Agnone is located in the heart of Alto Molise, in the province of Isernia.
Agnone was probably re-founded in the XII century by a man called Landolfo Borrello. He was an army captain and led soldiers and craftsmen from Venice to Agnone. Ancient monuments and palaces in the city centre testify this story.
Craftsmanship is one of the features of this city: pastries, confetti (sugared almonds), copper and gold are among the raw materials transformed by craftsmen.
